    Abstract

Abstract This study analyzed specific areas that are concentrated at high density in the city and are defined as gentry coverage. The areas analyzed as specific gentrification areas in Seoul are seen in various areas such as Seok-dong, Yonnam-dong, Goryeong-donggil, Seongsu-dong and Samcheong-dong. As the pace of the gentrification process accelerates, phenomena such as the loss of local identity and the collapse of the community can take place before responses such as government policies and management are applied to local characteristics. This study investigated the process of the occurrence and formation of gentrification and analyzed the gentrification phenomenon which is happening now. The results of this study can be summarized as basic data on the follow-up studies of urban gentrification and urban regeneration.
